After reading Chapter 1 of the text
I am more informed of the terminology used in Canada’s inclusive society. The
UDL and DI models are going to very useful for the students in this class
especially when we think about lesson plans. It was nice to see an overview on
what each province and territory has, that administers the needs for
exceptional students within their school system. I learned a lot about all the
students with different types of disabilities that are considered exceptional
learners Like the introduction I am more aware that is a lot of hard work to
teach exceptional students. I was not aware of how the classroom views the
adaptions teachers make for exceptional students. I liked that they ended the
chapter with the ADAPT Strategy that will be very helpful when teaching in an
inclusive classroom and I am very excited to use this strategy one day.
